I heard sirens today for a stretch of about 15-20 minutes, and I finally gave in and grabbed my camera and headed toward the source, riding upon my scooter. All the fuss was over a car fire in the first floor of the new parking garage west of campus. There were enough firemen there to put out the great San Francisco fire … maybe it was just good training for them. They seemed to have it all under control, and I soon lost interest. I snapped a few pictures and scooted away.
